Framework Dimensions

Rationale

This an indicator of DCJ's objective to protect children and young people who are at risk of abuse and neglect within their families or whose families do not have the capacity to provide care and protection. High or increasing proportions of children and young people exiting out‑of‑home care to a permanency outcome for whom there was no return to out‑of‑home care is desirable.

Alignment: This aligns with the Report on Government Services (RoGS).

Benchmark

The target is 5,250 over the four-year period from 2019/20 to 2022/23 (or 1,050 per annum).
