Definition

This refers to the total number of Aboriginal children and young people receiving Family Preservation programs, during the reporting period.


Family Preservation programs are defined as those funded services that aim to prevent imminent separation of children from their primary caregivers because of child protection concerns and those services which aim to reunify families where separation of children from their primary caregivers has already occurred for child protection reasons.

Family Preservation include unique children and young people participating in Intensive Family Services, Intensive Family Preservation, Brighter Futures program, Strengthening Families, Intensive Family Based Services (IFBS) and NGO IFBS collection.
