REFERRALTOKEY is is derived from a DSS reference table (see fdp-child-protection-prod:tei_bdm.tei_ref_referral_to ), the key helps determine the reason/s clients are referred to other services, either internally or externally. There are 14 reasons clients be referred and there can be more than 1 reasons clients are referred at any given time. Each reason in the Referral To table is a binary value representing yes (1) or no (2). The key is a value (integer - the sum of the binary value attributed to the service column) representing the different combination of binary values across different reason code. For example, the REFERRALTOKEY value 24 means the reason has a 1 (i.e. yes) in the Training and Personal columns and for all other reasons they have a 0 (i.e. no):

The following table reveals the value associated with each service needed and by 1 (yes) or 0 (no) in the relevant service column:

A combination of referral services is represented by the sum of related binary values - eg the services of FAMILY and MENTAL is represented by 1088 (ie 1024 + 64)
